General:
Biennial or short-lived perennial herb from a simple or branched stem-base; stems 1-several, usually simple, 15-30 cm tall, glaucous, with simple to several-branched hairs toward base, glabrous above.

Leaves:
Basal leaves in prominent, persistent rosette, lanceolate, 10-15 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, tapering to a slender stalk, densely grey-hairy with branched hairs; stem leaves unstalked, often broadly attached to stem, but not clasping or ear-like at the bases, sparsely hairy, fringed margins, glaucous.

Flowers:
Many-flowered racemes; petals 3-5 mm long, white to pale lavender; sepals not bulging on one side at the base.

Fruits:
siliques, strongly bent downward, straight, 3-5 cm long, 2 mm wide; seeds 1 mm long with very narrow wings.

Notes:
Often included in A. holboellii, where it is out of place, without clasping, ear-like lobes at the bases of the stem leaves.
